People

In the world there are 2 different types of people
Those that have a sincere love of animals and those that don’t
At which point many pet parents will receive odd criticism from those that aren’t
For sharing such a strong bond with their fur baby, scale baby or tiger baby who knows…

The beauty in having a pet is that you don’t, you have a member of the family that just isn’t of your species
There is an understanding between you and a way of communication that many fail to understand
Some people will ask themselves why another has a dog and if there is more than one ‘why so many’
And I think to myself, has anyone ever asked a human why do you have so many kids when you can barely take care of yourself?

Because as a dog parent of 3 we are in a constant fest of love, funnies and amazement
All the time even when they bark at Sandy Squirrel and think that they can bark commands to which she will adhere to and climb down the tree–Sandy won’t but it’s cute to see their persistence
And one of my inner giggle moments is when one starts barking and then the other 2 join in as if to say we’re a pack and support each other
A beautiful camaraderie that is missed by humans at times

Being dog mom makes me happiest because there is never a dull moment and the babies are always loving and welcoming even after they’ve been reprimanded for stealing a snack out of someone’s hand or lifting a paw and letting the water fall-literally

But the same can’t be said with humans
If you have a teenager he or she may be constantly angry for no apparent reason but this could be helped with actual conversation and a whole bunch of other things
Yet humans don’t always do it, they just leave it to time…

Not my fur babies, they make sure to inch their way closer and lay down, paws up waiting for a belly rub and saying but you love me and I love you and I’m your baby!!!
Humans wish this would happen after a fight, a bunch of love that just warms your heart and makes you smile
But it doesn’t really happen

Yet I don’t go around telling people how to rule their roost of humans or to slow things down in the production department because it’s not anyones business but their’s
Still I wonder what makes it their business to put forth such dislike for a relationship that they cannot comprehend but is able to make a person visibly happier

The world may never know
But I may forever prefer my fur friends and fur lovers
It’s just a different kind of group among animal people

A different kind of vibe for an even cooler kind of tribe

Slave

A slave to my mother
She carried me for months regardless if she was ready to or not
And when I was ready, I made my way, not thinking of the pain she was feeling in the process
Rather selfish now that I think of it, but it was all I knew
Myself within her, breathing through her, communicating through her
Everything through her

It became her duty to teach me everything she wanted me to know
It became her duty to mold me into the person she wanted to be
But somewhere along, she lost her way
She lost sight of what was best
She lost sight of what was needed

Having knowledge of what she did, she made a conscious effort to set it all aside
Things were going to change
Things were going to be different
She would not be like the others
And neither would I

She constantly made note that all she did was for me
To become independent and stand on my own
To make my way in the world without the need of her as my crutch

But it was not so
She was too hurtful, she caused too much pain
All that she knew was falsely intertwined
It was a love to pretend
A love of the self and for the self
But not of health

The teachings meant to be good and full
Were in reality frayed like the edges of fabric
Stemming from the same place and opening up in a direction that leads nowhere
If pulled it would for sure break down the home from which it came
But to go out all alone would be suicide
Throwing a snip of thread to get lost in nothingness

Similar to what she taught me
That I had to go go go but whenever I tried tried tried
She would pull me back and tear some more telling asking if I saw what I was doing to her
Breaking her down repeatedly with my bad behavior

It had all become a tug of war
One in which each tug in which ever direction was enough to throw everything in a frenzy
As I learned more and more I realized that all of which she wanted, was not for me, but perhaps for her
She was quite conscious of what made her feel
Losing all notion of anyone else
Losing sight of what was right and what may be intelligent

Her grace was enough to teach you a little but not enough so that you would always have to go back
But if you happened to ask, well then you would never know
Why should she teach you? Why would she tell you anything?
At any given point in time you should know what she didn’t tell you
At any given point in time, you would move forward and then have to pull back 15 steps
Because you didn’t know where you were going

It gave her glee to know she was pulling the strings and she would hold me back
With confusing kindness to shield me away from all that would hurt
To ensure that I would stay
To ensure that I would lose sight of any necessary tool to go away
To make sure that I knew nothing beyond what she taught me

And only seek what she could show me

Parents in the Muck

Let’s be honest, some people were just never supposed to be parents
It’s quite unfortunate that any knowledge of possible birth control just
Slipped their minds when it counted most
Or perhaps they could have been open to the option of adoption
In hopes to give their offspring a better life, but it just didn’t happen for some

Instead, some kids grew up with parents so toxic the muck just seemed to get
thicker and thicker with time
Every thought they had, every word they said and every thing they did
Just seemed to be much worse than the last

Who would have thought that these supposedly adult and or educated parents
Would have turned out so rotten
Yup like the yucky tomato that gets forgotten in the fridge
And grows mold that starts to contaminate the other veggies or fruit as it starts to
Shrivel up in the cold dark air
Almost as if to say well ‘If I’m bad, you’re going to be worse’ followed by a sad attempt
At an evil laugh that just becomes a sad cough because the grossness has taken over

Never in a million years will I be able to comprehend why parents think it’s ok do things like
Beat your adolescent child that disagrees with you, instead of using words like a normal mature adult
And the kid doesn’t even have to be an adolescent, that can of whoop a$$ just isn’t going to work
Because you are missing the bigger picture of communicating why certain things are wrong and
What is actually write

If your daughter wants to wear something different than that of your preference, it’s called being an
Individual with a personality and I do believe that it’s one of the healthiest thing in the world to make
Proper choices based on what a single person feels to be right for them (of course this is so as long as we aren’t hurting anyone or ourselves)
It’s acceptance that a parent should have because when you have a child, this person is not meant to
Be your mini me
If not, it would be a Stepford World and that would just be AWFUL!!!!

If your kids like things that you may not feel right for a boy or a girl, get over it
The year is 2019 and since the dawn of time love has been love and the sexes don’t even matter
Unless you’re trying to maybe give birth, then you will for sure have to have the ovaries, if not
Who cares what you do or with whom
Just let them be who they are and give them love

If you’re a parent, a certain degree of maturity should really follow
No need to have screaming matches with anyone or be condescending
Don’t act like a hormonal teenager that stomps around when things aren’t going their way
Take a step back and actually look at the picture
Is it really that serious? You’re a parent, not a dictator

Difference is what makes the world go round
It’s ok if your child doesn’t like what you like
This just means that you should probably get yourself your own friends that are into the same things as you
It’s a thing, it’s normal

And then there are those parents who are bothered by every little action or lack there of that a person does and they get super peeved as if something disgusted landed on the tip of their nose and is
Making it’s way up the nostril
Get over it! It’s not that serious
Focus on yourself because the kid can’t go back into the placenta for you to feed it and breathe for the child too

If you aren’t going to be supportive, don’t be a negative pole either, there is plenty of that to be encountered outside
Just keep quiet and move it along
This relationship isn’t based on a court case where the lawyer is coming down on a witness for their client

The worst thing is that many of these parents are way past 50 and will never think that there is anything wrong with them
Now I understand why so many people just shy away from their family
If it’s not necessary (and it’s really not) to be around these grimy people, well stay away
Don’t let their dirt ruin your polish

In the long run, you may be very happy with your decision to put your happiness first
So that you can put more good out there and hope that the discord of your parents will stay at bay
